If you plan on using text to donate for your fundraising or marketing, here are a few ways a keyword and toll free number can facilitate donations.
Unsolicited text messages? Bad. Very bad. Our mobile phones are considered by many to be the last bastions of privacy. Solicited text messages, however? Good. Very good. People like them. They’re ok. Nothing to be afraid of.
As a development professional, you wear many hats. Your job is to figure out how to bring money into the organization. You may have little time or resources for broader marketing initiatives. But what you do is, in fact, marketing, so here’s a starting point for marketing your nonprofit.
Since your screen will automatically refresh frequently, you can just set it and forget it. As donations come in, the progress bar totals will dynamically update, you’ll get text alerts in real time, you’ll receive email updates every 15 minutes, and your mercury will rise to the new levels — all without your having to do anything!
While you can create a PayPal donate link on the fly, you may also want to create a PayPal donate button. One advantage of creating a donate button is that you can embed the button on a web page or an email.
We’ve purposefully designed our product to be the simplest text to donate service on the market. If you prefer a more DIY approach, then you might consider one of our competitors. But if you’re like me, you don’t want to have to learn HTML or figure out how to navigate another content management system in order to raise more money.
